PDA Utility in Clinical Research Survey

The use of Handheld Computers/Personal Digital Assistants (PDA) is becoming more commonplace in the new millennium. As new applications develop, PDAs are being used for more than calendar and phone directory applications. Certainly in the realm of clinical research coordination PDAs are becoming more commonplace for coordinators and study sponsors. The use of PDAs for study site management is evolving, but currently individually custom designed by the user. The purpose of this survey is to determine the use and application of PDAs in the operation and management of clinical trials at the research site level.
