November 2002: Veo,
has announced its certification by handheld leader, Palm
Inc., as the first digital camera vendor for Palm handhelds
utilizing the Palm Expansion Card Slots, including the Palm
m125, m130, m500 series, i705 models and the Tungsten. During
November, Veo is shipping the Photo Traveler for Palm handhelds,
a new handheld digital camera that plugs directly into the
expansion slot now common on most Palm handhelds. The new
camera is part of the broader Photo Traveler line of products
that Veo announced in September.
Veo is an official Palm PluggedIn member and has been working
very closely with Palm in the development of the Photo Traveler
to ensure compatibility with its latest handheld offerings
including Palm OS 5. A software developer's kit will also
be available so custom applications can be developed for
the cameras in a variety of vertical markets.
"We're excited about this new way to take advantage
of our expansion slot," said Ken Wirt, senior vice
president marketing and product management, Palm Solutions
Group. "Veo's focus on innovatively designed, high-quality
products that are easy to use and affordable is a strategic
fit for us."
The addition of the Photo Traveler for Palm handhelds is
an extension of Veo's mission to develop fun, affordable
and innovative digital imaging products. With a simple,
easy-to-use interface, the camera allows users to instantly
capture, view, store and organize digital images in full
color and beam these images wirelessly to other handheld
devices for viewing. A swivel lens with adjustable focus
ensures crisp photos from close or far away.
